Quality classification of the campsites
The classification system is based on nationally applicable guidelines laid down by the BVCD and the German Tourism Association (DTV). In 1999, the scheme already in place for hotels, private rooms and holiday apartments was extended to include campsites, which can be awarded up to five stars.
Classification is voluntary and is intended to
make it easier for visitors to select a site.
Classification is valid for three years.
